The use of digital technologies has become increasingly common during the current moment of social isolation – a measure to contain the advance of the new coronavirus (Covid-19), adopted by the Government of RN. Thinking about school dynamics, we developed, together with the Secretary of State for Education, Culture, Sports and Leisure (SEEC), applications aimed at facilitating the interaction between students and teachers during the period of social distance, also contributing to the process of learning.

Available for Android and IOS systems, the Escola em Movimento – RN and SIGEduc RN Conference apps are free and are digital tools whose objective is to enable access to educational content, as well as act as a bridge that collaborates with communication to distance between students and teachers. In addition, the applications add materials aimed at all stages and modalities of teaching in the state education network.

Escola em Movimento – RN, for example, has content designed to prepare students for the National High School Exam (Enem), video classes and news. No login is required to access the app, which can also be used by students from private and municipal schools. In addition, the tool also has a function that allows the user to download content from the platform that can be used offline.

The SIGEduc RN Conference application is a tool geared to the needs of students and teachers. In addition, one of the main functions of the application is to make web conferencing more practical.
Health of SEEC / RN servers

In addition to the applications aimed at students and teachers during the period of social isolation, in the last week we launched the Coronavirus SEEC-RN app, a digital tool aimed at the health care of education workers.

Focused exclusively on SEEC’s collaborators – access to the app is done through the server’s registration – the app is free and aims to monitor the health of users, having, for example, a questionnaire in which the server answers to questions about Covid-19 symptoms and possible situations in which the chances of contagion would increase – such as contact with someone who has the disease.

According to Ana Paula Flor, coordinator of Information and Technology Management at SEEC, the development of the platform aims to monitor the health situation of Education workers, in addition to serving as a support tool during the pandemic period. “The app was developed so that the Education of RN can know how their staff is doing and have a current diagnosis of the health of these servants in education”, points out the coordinator.
